After the failure of the 2009 Copenhagen climate summit, local and regional solutions are growing in importance. At Jokkmokk Winter Conference 2011, solutions for a sustainable future in arctic and subarctic regions was explored. Focus issues this year were: lifestyle, traditional knowledge, tourism, energy autonomy, development and democracy.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
