Statement fo the Chittagong Hill Tracts Women’s Federation on Agenda Item 5: Review of Developments

Concerning the situation of indigenous Jumma people in Bangladesh. Jumma women are being discriminated against on the basis of race and gender. Death and famine due to the scarcity of agricultural land, restriction imposed on the traditional jum cultivation, influx on non-indigenous settlers, and the relocation of the Jummas in the cluster villages.
