This report from the 19th session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in 2020 provides an overview of the International Year of Indigenous Languages (2019) objectives, purposes, and outcomes. The key conclusion of the report is that there is a need to maintain the momentum through the continued engagement of Member States, indigenous peoples, academia, public and private actors and other stakeholders in the preservation and revitalization of indigenous languages.
